Balkans For Cooperation
and European Development

B.C.E.D. is an association founded in Geneva in 2025 by Laura Jashari. Its purpose is to offer a space for constructive exchange, supported by professionals, around the development of the Balkan region and the impact it has on the European continent.

The association grew out of a simple observation: the current absence of institutions offering rich, neutral and structured dialogue about a region shaped by complex histories. Above all, B.C.E.D. wants to give young people a voice by creating a space where mutual enrichment takes precedence over confrontation. Cooperation here is diplomatic, allowing those interested to learn about contemporary issues and to exchange within a setting conducive to respectful debate.

The association speaks in particular to young people of the Balkan diaspora who wish to learn more about the region, its challenges, its evolution and the prospects taking shape there.

Over the generations, many families left their homelands under the influence of varied historical, political, economic or social circumstances. Their children, sometimes distant from the region yet still connected to it, today express the desire to better understand what the Balkans are, what they are becoming and what they are building.

B.C.E.D. therefore intends to offer a space for discovery, reflection and transmission. Through its events, its exchanges and the contributions of guests and professionals, the association aims to help everyone better understand what the Balkans represent today, in all the complexity of their challenges, the diversity of their histories and the richness of their cultures.

The committee is composed exclusively of young people determined to place Balkans for Cooperation and European Development within a vision turned towards the future of the Balkans.
